Honors & Awards
Being extremely active
in Boys Scouts as a child, I was able to achieve
my Eagle Scout Award. Entering college as an International
Business major, my grade point allowed me to receive
a presidential scholarship for full tuition and
board based on my SAT and high school GPA. While
maintaining a high GPA in college, I was placed
on the Dean's List for each semester 1998 through
2001. In upholding a 3.94 GPA, I graduated Summa
Cum laude. During my undergraduate work, I received
Dominican University Scholar Athlete of the Year
for 1998, 1999, and 2000.
My scholastic work in the
classroom also provided the opportunity to receive
the California Pacific Conference 2000 A.O. Duer
Award for the strongest GPA in the athletic CAL
PAC conference. In addition to my athletic awards,
I received a full tuition scholarship for my senior
year. The scholarship was based on interviews,
presentations, and a transcript. The William McGowan
Scholarship is given to two students who are selected
by a campus committee. The recipients travel to
the local junior colleges and give presentations
on various business related topics. My academic
marks also gave me departmental honors at graduation.
Due to my continued involvement
in academic projects and presentations, the Masters
Program Dean noticed my work. I therefore received
a full tuition Compton scholarship for a Master
Degree in Global Strategic Management. However,
this scholarship was for the first year, and a
GPA of a 3.7 was necessary to be eligible for
further scholastic awards. During my second semester,
I then received the 2002 Pacific Basin Fellowship
for maintaining my academic performance. During
my Masters, I also was eligible to receive the
Sister Mary Raymond Alumni Scholarship for outstanding
citizens in the Dominican University Community.
My academic success has provided opportunities
to play intercollegiate basketball, travel, and
grow as an intellectual. |
